STAMFORD, CT - The City of Stamford is pleased to announce the WWE has signed a 16-year lease for the 677 Washington Boulevard property managed by George Comfort & Sons.

The WWE will occupy roughly 415,000 square feet of the 677 Washington Boulevard building (previously known as the “UBS Building”). This building was one of the many buildings in Stamford that was originally constructed for the needs of financial service companies, as a result, it maintains gig-speed fiber optic internet infrastructure that services the needs of modern companies that rely on internet connectivity. The WWE’s expansion into online video content allows the company to take advantage of the internet infrastructure available to them in their new headquarters.

“Stamford has tremendous broadband capabilities and I’m glad a company that’s been in our City for so long has chosen to continue investing in our community,” said Mayor David Martin. “We’ve worked with the WWE for many decades and they’ve been here long enough to know their investment in our City pays itself back. I’m glad we can continue building relationships with businesses who believe in Stamford’s future.”

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. has been a staple of Stamford’s business community for decades. The company has been headquartered at 1241 East Main Street (also known as the “Titan Towers”) since the 1980s, and their move to downtown will allow the WWE to further integrate into the City of Stamford.

The WWE will begin moving to their new headquarters after July 1 2019. The company announced their intent to transition all operations, production and corporate offices by early 2021. The WWE does not intend to continue using its 1241 East Main Street building.
