Eagle Scout project expands Pollinator Pathway project on the Norwalk River Valley Trail
Led by Eagle Scout candidate Seamus Masone of Scout Troop 125 in Wilton, a team of scouts from Wilton and Norwalk have teamed up to remove invasive species and plant native species along the Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) in Wilton. This effort is part of the Pollinator Pathway Project organized by the Norwalk River Watershed Association (NRWA).

Stamford artist Joyce Grasso to show work at Pequot Library in solo exhibition
Joyce Grasso, the Stamford-based artist who won Pequot Library’s 2018 juried art show, Wet Paint, will be showing her work in a solo exhibition at the Library starting September 6, 2019. Each year, Pequot Library accepts over 100 works to its juried art show, which is entering its 22nd year. Grasso’s show, Coastal Expressions, features abstract seascapes the artist describes as creating a “feeling of place” with “bold colors, multiple layers and varied textures.” This exhibition also highlights Grasso’s mixed media collages with hand-painted acrylic papers on cradleboard. An opening reception for the exhibition is planned for September 5, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Pequot Library.

Norwalk PL Offers Fall Creative Writing Workshop Series Beginning September 16
Challenge your imagination in a new six-week creative writing program at Norwalk Public Library, led by author and writing teacher Kim Kovach. Inspiration for this series will be the murals and paintings created by Connecticut artists as part of the Federal Works Progress Administration (WPA) program in the 1920s.
